You can easily see this sign at the bend in the road just across from Kinzua Dam, but you can't see the area's most beautiful waterfall unless you go on foot. The well worn path up and around and around the waterfall is quite a treat.
Many photographers have tried to capture the essence of Bent Run Waterfall. So far, I have not had much luck. At least not as good as a photo taken by a visitor from Texas just a few years ago. To appreciate our local Mother Nature you really should take a look at it at this link.
But I keep trying. I had to take a death-defying hike down the side of the road to get this one:
Oh well. All I can say is that the human eye is a much better camera than I will ever be able to afford. It's worth your time to take an hour or so to record your own mental picture. If the kids are getting a bit antsy or don't fall asleep at the proper time, take them up the trail carved into roots and rocks up to the source of the waterfall. It's a better "jungle gym" than you can buy anywhere.

I first was taken up to this waterfall by a boyfriend of mine. Back then, there was no sign marking it, and not many people knew it was there. I fell in love with the spot, and it has remained special ever since.
