Many Campers Already Arrested for minor offenses:

 

June 24 UPDATE: WICU television news in Erie reports today that

 

"some members of the loose-knit group have already been charged with various offenses by members of the U.S. Forest Service. Today about 45 members of the group appeared by U.S. Magistrate Judge Susan Baxter at the Erie Federal Courthouse. And lots of U.S. Forest Service officers were there. The Rainbow Family members were charged with a variety of offenses including drug paraphernalia, blocking traffic, speeding and interfering with law enforcement. Most of the offenses were resolved without an actual hearing."

 

A blog called "Gathering Updates" reported today that up to 20 campers were arrested.

 

The actual Rainbow Gathering is not scheduled to start until July 1.
