Winter enthusiasts will be pleased to learn that with snow predicted for most days this week, the Allegheny National Forest has announced that the 159 mile trail system known as the Allegheny Snowmobile Loop (ASL) opened on December 17 this year.
Riders should be aware that trail conditions can vary, depending on snowfall and grooming. Before venturing out it is recommended that residents and visitors call either the Allegheny National Forest Supervisor’s Office at (814) 723-5150 or the Marienville Ranger District at (814) 927-6628.
