The Friends of the Allegheny Wilderness in Warren write:
Over the weekend of February 14th and 15th, 2009, members of Friends of Allegheny Wilderness and the Butler Outdoor Club hiked through the wild, untrammeled 1,780-acre proposed addition to the Hickory Creek Wilderness Area on the Tanbark Trail, and then off-trail into the existing Hickory Creek Wilderness in Pennsylvania's Allegheny National Forest. A winter wonderland was encountered!
Please contact your U.S Representative at your earliest possible convenience at http://www.house.gov and ask them to pass a law to permanently protect the proposed addition to Hickory Creek as wilderness under the Wilderness Act of 1964. For more information, please see http://www.pawild.org.
