Travel with veteran photographer, Ed Bernik of Forest Press, for a two-day, one-night photo trek into the Allegheny National Forest in northwestern Pennsylvania. Offering photographers of all levels a guided trip into the Pennsylvania Wilds. This tour combines both photographic technique and tips working in a digital medium, as well as a unique travel experience in one of the last wild places of America.
Deep in the Allegheny National Forest, home to the
Seneca Tribe of the Iroquois Nation, the fog rises over Willow Bay. As
the mist clears, a bald eagle takes to wing in search of the morning’s
meal for her young.
A black bear with her spring cub slowly make their
way out of a hemlock stand to drink from the pristine mountain stream.
Flocks of ducks take wing feeling nervous now that the daytime
predators are moving about. Over 20 species of fowl make this part of
Pennsylvania their migratory route.
The smell of bacon, sausage and eggs, drifts across
the water from a group of backpackers making their way up the North
Country Trail, two miles away. As the sun crests Rattlesnake Mountain,
Ed Bernik, has already been up for two hours setting up his camera and
brewing his morning coffee
Join
Ed as he takes you through this 513, 000 acres of Eastern United States
most primeval forest, bisected by Pennsylvania’s Scenic Route 6, once
know as the Grand Army of the Republic Highway.
